Blog posts

A page to show the selected blog post that updates your customers on your business or products; learn how to add and manage blogs in Shopify admin.

PREVIEW

Preview setting is on top of the navigation sidebar. Choose the blog post to show on the page template: select 'Change' and choose the blog post from the list on the settings sidebar.

TEMPLATES AND SECTIONS

In the theme editor, you can create different templates for blog post pages and add various sections. Note that each blog post template has a template-specific section 'Blog post' that you can customize.

GENERAL

Color scheme

Choose a separate color scheme for the section.

Width

Choose the width of the section on the page.

Show breadcrumbs

Select to show the breadcrumbs that serve as a navigation aid to help customers understand their location within your store.

Show background

Select to show a decorative shape of contrasting color in the background of the page.

PADDINGS

Add side paddings

Select to add extra space on the sides between the section and the screen.

Top padding

Adjust the space between the section and the previous element on the page.

Bottom padding

Adjust the space between the section and the following element on the page.

IMAGE

Use this block to show or hide the blog post cover image.

Width

Choose the width of the image on the page.

Image ratio

Adjust the proportion between the image width and height, and make its orientation square, horizontal, or vertical.

TAGS

Use this block to show or hide the blog post’s tags on the page.

Show tags

Choose whether to show all or selected tags or to hide them.

Select tags

Fill in the tag labels you want to show on the page. Separate each tag label with a comma. Note that these tags appear only if you choose to show ‘Selected’ tags.

Collapse extra tags

Select to show only the first row of tags on the page and hide the remaining tags in a dropdown list. To view all the tags, select the button at the end of the row of tags.

HEADING

Show author

Select to show the author of the blog post.

Show date

Select to show the date when the post was added to your blog.

Show comment count

Select to show the number of comments on this blog post.

Show 'Share' link

Select to show 'Share' link. If you select the link, the URL and 'Copy link' button appear.

Heading size

Adjust the font size for the blog post’s heading.

TEXT

Use this block to show or hide the body of the blog post.

Text size

Adjust the font size for the blog post’s content. Note that the option applies only to the parts of text that have 'Paragraph' formatting.

FOOTER

Show author

Select to show the author of the blog post.

Show date

Select to show the date when the post was added to your blog.

Show 'Share' link

Select to show 'Share' link. If you select the link, the URL and 'Copy link' button appear.

Show next and previous posts

Select to show the navigation arrows with links to the next and previous posts within the blog.

Show comment count

Select to show the number of comments on this blog post.
